About Israel Weather
The climate in Israel is very unique, in a small geographical area you can find a few different climates made of the geographical features of the land:
Costal plain at the Mediterranean Sea.
It is known for its hot and humid summers and mild winters.
Important cities in this area are Tel Aviv in the center, Haifa and Akko in the north.
Travel tip: during summer time wear light and comfortable clothes and don’t forget to drink plenty of water.
Mountain ranges, including the hills of Galilee at the north and the hills of Samaria and Judea at the center (including Jerusalem), separated by the beautiful Jezreel Valley.
These areas can are dry during the summer and moderately cold at the winter with heavy rainfall in the north.
Jordan Valley spreads from the Sea of Galilee in the north via the Dead Sea to the Arava and Eilat in the south. It is characterized by hot and dry summers and moderate winters.
Desert area at the south all the way from Beer Sheva to Eilat, including the Arava, the Dead Sea, Judea desert and more.
This area is known for the very hot temperatures during the day while the nights can get very cold.
Travel tip: Do not visit these areas during spring through autumn without the proper gear: a wide hat, sunscreen and plenty of water.
Israel has a dry season (June to October) and a wet season (November to May).
The amount of rain, temperature and humidity vary greatly according to the geographical areas as explained above.
